“Imperial Russia” is not a purely historical project. This is a project about travelling and history. We see more when we know more about the places we visit.
The main goal is to expand your view about travel destinations in Russia. Some imperial palaces are already well-known. But usually, travellers know only basic things about them. This project will be about going beyond common itineraries. About exploring in-depth and discovering more.
We will visit the palaces of the Russian imperial family — the Romanovs. We’ll wander in the imperial parks. We’ll explore aristocracy mansions and manor houses. And we’ll also try to catch the history that disappears: ruined and abandoned mansions and churches.
